AI receptionists and voice agents for Chicago and Illinois businesses, built around all-party recording consent, BIPA voiceprint rules, and winter emergency call surges.
Buyer-intent workflows
- AI receptionist for Chicago-area clinics, dental groups, and law firms
- Emergency intake for heating, plumbing, and restoration companies during winter
- After-hours and overflow answering for multi-location service businesses
- Voice AI designed to avoid biometric data collection under BIPA
All-party consent for recording
Illinois' eavesdropping law (720 ILCS 5/14-2) generally prohibits recording a private conversation without the consent of all parties. AI receptionists serving Illinois callers should state at the start of the call that it is recorded and handle callers who decline.
Voiceprints and the Biometric Information Privacy Act
Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) lists voiceprints as biometric identifiers. Collecting one requires written notice and a written release, and the law includes a private right of action. Standard call recording and transcription are not the same as creating a voiceprint, but voice biometrics for caller identification or authentication would trigger BIPA. We do not enable voice biometrics on Illinois deployments without counsel's sign-off.
One time zone, dense metro demand
Illinois is entirely on Central Time, and call volume concentrates in the Chicago metro. Multi-location businesses can route calls by suburb, ZIP code, or service area from a single agent.
Winter emergencies
Furnace failures and frozen or burst pipes turn routine service calls into emergencies during cold snaps, often at night. An AI receptionist answers every call, identifies true emergencies, and pages the on-call technician immediately while booking routine requests for the next day.

Frequently asked questions
Does BIPA apply to AI receptionists?
It depends on the features. BIPA covers voiceprints, so voice biometrics for identifying or authenticating callers would require written notice and consent. Ordinary recording and transcription do not create a voiceprint, and we keep biometric features off unless your counsel approves them.
Do Illinois callers need to be told the call is recorded?
Yes. Illinois generally requires consent of all parties to record a private conversation, so the agent announces recording at the start of every call.
Can one AI receptionist cover several Chicago-area locations?
Yes. The agent identifies the caller's location by number dialed, ZIP code, or a quick question, then applies that location's hours, services, and calendar.
